Dr. Howard D. Fern is a chiropractor in Gilbert, Arizona, with over 30 years of experience. He graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences (formerly Los Angeles College of Chiropractic) in 1993. Prior to that, he earned a BS in biology from the University of Hartford, where he also worked and received hands on experience as an student athletic trainer.

Dr. Fern is devoted to his patients and gives each patient individualized attention. His approach to treating patients is simple yet can be multi-faceted. His motto is “Hands on, high tech, modern treatment with personalized, old-fashioned caring”.

Dr. Fern is certified in Medical Acupuncture (FIAMA), Manipulation Under Anesthesia (CMUA), and is a Certified Medical Examiner (CME) from FMCSA to perform DOT/CDL physicals. He is also a certified Health Coach with Take Shape for Life, a Certified Injury Prevention Consultant
with Future Industrial Technologies performing safety training and ergonomic evaluations, and a certified physician for WorkSteps, performing pre- and post-employment fitness examinations. In addition, Dr. Fern is certified to perform Drug Testing, Breath Alcohol Testing, Hair Follicle Testing and Respiratory Fit Testing.

Dr. Fern loves sports and has played basketball and tennis at a high level. He has participated as Team Chiropractor for ProSports Chiropractic, Arizona Cactus Football League, Wrangler Chiropractic and for 2 High School Men’s Lacrosse teams. He has also consulted with various youth football teams, gymnasts, golfers, triathletes, swimmers, runners, and many other amateur and professional athletes in various sports.

Dr Fern loves practicing as a chiropractor, but his first love is to his wife and his two children.

Dr. Fern is a chiropractor who loves helping people feel their best. He has a passion for his work and enjoys seeing the positive impact he has on his patient’s lives. However, Dr. Fern’s first love is to his wife and two children. He cherishes the time he spends with them and always makes sure to put them first. WHAT TO EXPECT

Consultation & Examination
You will have a 1 on 1 visit with the doctor to discuss your health concerns and the reason for your visit. After your initial health consultation, we’ll perform a complete & comprehensive chiropractic exam.

X-rays
A series of X-rays may be needed to allow us to clearly determine a proper care plan. X-rays will only be ordered when necessary. X-rays provide us with an objective diagnostic tool that will show the condition and health of your spine.

Report of Findings
Your report of findings will take place immediately after your exam unless additional diagnostic testing is needed. Your Report of Findings includes a detailed analysis of what you need in order to solve the problem that brought you into our office and what can be done in order to assure that it won’t happen again. We consider your current lifestyle choices, goals for the future and challenges that are standing in your way. This is why our recommendations are extremely comprehensive and have the chance to be the solution that you have been seeking to find.

Ongoing
Our entire staff strives to keep waiting times to a minimum, so we ask that all patients be prompt for their appointments so we can stay on track. Your adjustments will be given by the doctor. Based on your condition a personalized physiotherapy rehabilitation plan will be implemented. Besides the treatment in the office, we will instruct you on home exercises program, lifestyle changes, work and home ergonomic changes. We want you to be healthy for a lifetime!

Best chiropractor ever! Dr. Fern takes his time at the beginning of each adjustment to actually see what's going on with your spine, before adjusting you, rather than just doing the same adjustment every time like a robot, like many other chiropractors seem to do. I've had chiropractic work done on me pretty regularly for the last 20 years or so, and have only been a patient of Dr. Fern's for about a year...and I can say his adjustments last longer than any other chiropractor I've been to. He's phenomenal at his craft and can really tune into what your body needs. 10 out of 10 for sure!

I Arrived at A Plus Chiropratic ,just 10 minutes early. Schedualled my DOT (health card) appointment wIth them, after all it was 1/2 the cost.But the experience was 100x more satisfying than any urgent care or clinic ive every been. With a history of high blood pressure & needing to pass for my livelyhood, I entered a bit nervous & the city's road construction traffic didnt help. A Plus Office lobby area was inviting & instantly calming. I Was greeted with a hello and a hugh smile.I was processed in gently but professio ally. So impressed with Dr.Fern !! My initial entry blood pressure was to high ( as I expected). Dr.Fern has these abilities & simple techniques to calm & relax a patients mind & body within minutes. Just amazing. Very Cool Dude !!
